Where does a forester work?

Foresters can work in many different locations, but they are all primarily outdoors. You may work in a variety of climates and weather conditions, overseeing plant and animal life, in addition to managing human recreation facilities within forests and national parks. There are forestry positions in all 50 states, but certain states, including California, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, have larger forester workforces than others. While the majority of positions are in state and national parks, you can also work for municipalities, federal agencies, and private companies as consultants.
