Where do school nurses work?

School Nurses typically work in schools, including public and private schools, alternative educational facilities, boarding schools, and military schools at the elementary and secondary levels. But you may also find School Nurses at community centers and other organizations that work with youth. Government agencies hire School Nurses to administer health plans for head start and pre-kindergarten programs on many campuses. In each of these settings, you are likely to find a School Nurse working in the nurse's office, a classroom, or an administrative office. You may work on just one campus, or you may travel several times a week to different schools.
