Where do research scientists work?

Research scientists conduct studies for universities, nuclear plants, technology companies, or laboratories—anywhere that requires research and analyzation. Research scientists in the medical field may work for government agencies, private hospitals, or health maintenance organizations (HMOs). As a research scientist, you may work in multiple settings. A research scientist who works for a university may share their time between an office, laboratory, and classroom. A research scientist at a nuclear plant may split their time between the laboratory and the field.
