Where do political scientists work?

As a political scientist, you have the opportunity to work in several different fields. Those with advanced degrees can work at colleges and universities; political science professors divide their time between political analysis, research, and teaching classes. Non-teaching jobs include positions in government organizations at the state or federal level, or at non-profit “think tanks” that research the impact of government practices and public policies on businesses and citizens. Some political scientists get jobs at media companies to analyze politics in newspapers, magazines, and news programs.
