Where do physiatrists work?

Physiatrist, or physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) doctors, are highly trained, specialized physicians who practice physical medicine in a variety of environments. As a physiatrist, you may work in a hospital, treating patients with musculoskeletal or neurological problems or traumatic injuries to the brain or spinal column, for example. You can work in a rehabilitation facility with other physicians and therapists as well. Options are to work in independent private practice or veteran’s hospital (VA). The practice of physical medicine is quite broad, and so many physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) doctors hav ee a specilty in the field.
