Career: Nuclear Medical Technologist

Nuclear medical technologists, also known as nuclear medicine technologists, work in a variety of health care institutions. As a nuclear medical technologist, you perform your job duties in a specialized testing suite with nuclear medicine imaging machines and conduct tests on patients each day. The imaging machines utilize radiation, so these suites are designed to provide a safe, sterile testing environment and protection from radiation exposure when used correctly. The most common workplace you find nuclear medical technologists is in hospitals; they administer treatments in the radiology and nuclear medicine department. Some imaging centers and specialty treatment centers may also employ nuclear medical technologists.
