Medical scientific liaisons (MSLs) often work for pharmaceutical companies, medical research institutions, universities, insurance companies, and hospitals. MSLs spend a significant amount of time in the field, traveling to various laboratories and clinics to attend meetings and advise on next steps in product development. Typically, medical science liaisons are responsible for serving as a resource to medical professionals in a specific area or region and may spend more than half of their time traveling to and from that area.
