Mechatronics engineers work in a variety of settings. Typically you spend some of your time in a lab or test facility where you design and test versions of your ideas before they are put into production. However, you also have to spend significant time at a production or manufacturing facility both in the initial stages of design and at the production stage. You may also be called upon to help train employees to use the new machinery and perform periodic maintenance. You may have meetings with a variety of departments and management when proposing new ideas.
