Where do informatics nurses work?

Informatics nurses work in a variety of medical facilities and private businesses. They may work in hospitals to help improve the communication and coordination of patient data throughout the entire hospital system, or in clinics and long-term care facilities such as nursing homes. Informatics nurses may also find jobs outside of medical facilities, such as teaching in nursing schools. These nursing specialists can also join the private sector and work for health care consulting firms, insurance companies, and IT organizations.
