Where do hospice nurses work?

Career: Hospice Nurse

Patients who have chosen to stop seeking treatment for terminal conditions receive hospice care. They can either choose to enter a hospice care facility or return home to prepare for death. As a hospice care nurse, you can work in both settings. At a large hospice care facility, you may be responsible for more than one patient at a time. However, if you provide home care, you remain with a single patient until they pass away. While both of these environments can be emotionally taxing, building a relationship with an individual patient can make your work both rewarding and sad.
