Where do gemologists work?

Gemologists work in a variety of roles, depending on their interests and specialties. Some work for auction houses, studying jewels and jewelry that come for auction to determine the appropriate pricing. Others work in retail, as jewelers, sales associates, wholesale buyers or appraisers. Roles as jewelry designers and repair people are also job options for gemologists.
