Where do forest rangers work?

A forest ranger has an outdoor career. Though this job may include administrative office work and planning, you spend most of your time in forests, plains, or other ecosystems. You may find employment with a state or national agency, such as the National Park Service or U.S. Forest Service. Agriculture departments, law enforcement agencies, and conservation groups may also hire people with ranger experience. Depending on your employer, you may perform public relations duties or provide education about nature and wildlife to park visitors or school groups, either in a classroom setting or in the field.
