Where do entry level civil engineers work?

Career: Entry Level Civil Engineer

Civil engineers work in many different settings. You mainly work in an office environment at an engineering firm, a public works department, or construction company. However, you must also survey and assess the terrain upon which you are planning to build. Therefore, you spend some time traveling to field sites to take measurements and collect samples for analysis. You may also be called upon to travel outside the country for big projects that have been won by your firm or if you work in the federal government or armed services. However, these bigger projects are not likely to go to an entry-level civil engineer.
