Child Life Specialists provide emotional and developmental support to children in hospitals or other medical facilities. They create specialized plans to help young kids cope with illnesses, injuries, or medical procedures. Outpatient health settings, such as dental offices and recreational day camps, may also have Child Life Specialists on staff. A Child Life Specialist with a degree in child development, health education, or a related field may find job opportunities in a greater variety of health care settings.
