What makes a good usher?

A good usher has a background in customer service, which helps them better assist guests or patrons. Additional qualifications include strong communication skills, a friendly personality, and knowledge of all theater safety rules and regulations. An usher must be comfortable working on their feet for the entirety of their shift. This job often includes basic cleaning and maintenance duties. Many of those interested in a career in a theater start in this position to gain experience.
