What makes a good intelligence analyst?

A good intelligence analyst is familiar with global issues, is a voracious reader, and has a passion for data. Intelligence analysts find patterns and incongruities in information and apply knowledge of past threats to this new data. As an intelligence analyst, you must have a strong desire to find the answer, even in difficult situations, and understand how complex political systems and international relations affect different scenarios. Good intelligence analysts know that no single source of information is 100% reliable in all circumstances. They must have the ability and patience to look at multiple sources, analyze the data, and utilize their expertise to make assessments and recommendations.
