What is the difference between a machine learning engineer and a data scientist?
Career: Machine Learning Engineer
Machine learning engineers and data scientists are two very different career paths. Both careers work on big data, but they differ in how they create data pipelines or value for big data. The difference between the creation of these is due to the base skills that each position has. A data scientist’s core competencies include advanced analytics, advanced statistics and math, and sometimes knowledge of physics. A machine learning engineer knows advanced programming, so their skills are more technical and not as scientific or mathematical as a data scientist.
