A fire sprinkler designer focuses on the design and implementation of fire sprinklers, along with providing maintenance of these systems. Fire protection engineers also perform similar tasks of designing and improving systems to prevent fire damage based on various safety regulations. However, fire protection engineers have other responsibilities, including maintaining the equipment that forest firefighters use and sourcing materials for controlling or stopping wildfires. These professionals may work with park rangers and in urban areas with other health and safety engineers to improve environmental safety, assessing the fire risk of different regions and determining what is needed to implement improved systems for fire prevention.
