What is an RCFE?

Career: RCFE Administrator

A residential care facility for the elderly, often referred to as an RCFE, is a facility designed to provide non-medical services for senior residents. Assisted living and board and care facilities are examples of an RCFE. Those living in these locations receive assistance with daily living activities in a safe and stable environment. Residents are usually over the age of 60 and have their own room but receive supervision as necessary and have staff help with eating, moving, personal hygiene, and medication distribution. An RCFE does not provide 24-hour nursing care but is an excellent option for individuals who can no longer live alone.
