What is an IT engineer?

An IT engineer works with both software and hardware to ensure that the technology within a company works appropriately and remains beneficial to their business. As an IT engineer, you create and maintain applications and frameworks that allow offices to function optimally in their day-to-day operations. Daily duties include maintaining servers, installing software, updating computer programming, and proactively addressing possible issues. This range of duties means that IT engineers must have excellent communication skills, a well-developed understanding of the company’s information technology processes, and the ability to work well in a team to resolve issues.
