HVAC mechanics check the heating and cooling units at residential or commercial properties and follow specifications to install a heating or cooling unit, repair air conditioning systems, or check for appropriate ventilation. HVAC mechanics must communicate their findings to the property owner, suggest ways to maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the year, and keep records of completed repairs.
