What is an elementary reading tutor?

An elementary reading tutor provides one-on-one tutoring or small group practice for students who need help learning to read or improving their reading skills. Your responsibilities in this job revolve around giving each student the literacy skills they need to develop into competent readers. You teach elementary school children between kindergarten and fourth or fifth grade (depending on the definition of “elementary” in the place where you work). You may also provide instruction on vocabulary, writing, and reading.
