What is an EEG technologist?

An EEG technologist, or electroencephalographic technologist, uses a specialized machine to scan the electrical impulse readout of a patient’s brain. By recording brain activity with an EEG device, it can provide information to a neurologist about the state of a patient’s nervous system. As an EEG technologist, your job duties include attaching electrodes to the patient’s body, recording the readings from the device, and maintaining the EEG to ensure it works properly. You may also have administrative responsibilities like recording patient information for insurance or billing purposes.
