An EDI Developer works on projects and procedures related to an electronic data interchange (EDI). EDI is a system used to transmit electronic files that contain business or other related data. Your job duties include troubleshooting file transfer protocol (FTP) networking systems, monitoring ongoing projects for effectiveness and efficiency, and ensuring adherence to industry security standards. A career as an EDI developer requires some qualifications and post-secondary education, usually at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Further voluntary certifications and experience in back-end server environments may set you ahead of other candidates.
