What is a transition teacher?

A transition teacher assists students with disabilities transition from one stage in life to the next, often out of high school and into the workforce. As a transition teacher, you may work with individuals or coordinate a larger transition program for students. While your job is to teach students, you also perform other duties like linking students to helpful resources and reporting on student progress. Qualifications for this career include a bachelor’s degree in special education and experience working with special needs children.
