What is a team leader?

A team leader provides direction or guidance to a group of people to achieve certain results, often while working alongside them. Their job duties include developing teamwork strategies, providing instruction, training new members, monitoring daily workflow, and preparing progress reports for the team manager. A team leader is often chosen by a manager to take the lead on a specific project, although they may hold the position over a long period.
