A spot welder or resistant spot welder is a person operates a spot welding machine, such as a punch press, to join together sheet metal, usually steel. Job duties include calibrating welding equipment, applying the electrodes to the iron to melt the area, and maintaining tools in good working order. Qualifications for this career include experience with welding equipment and skills specific to welding, such as the ability to read and execute precise measurements from blueprints and the ability to follow all safety procedures.
