What is a route driver?

A route driver is a transportation professional who works for various types of companies. As a route driver, you are responsible for the delivery and pick up of wholesale or retail goods along your route. Your responsibilities and duties include loading and unloading goods, making multiple stops along a route, tracking deliveries and inventorying items, and ensuring your vehicle is well cared for and maintained. Some route drivers operate vehicles which require additional training and special licensing. Beyond your delivery and pick up duties, you must be mindful of safe driving practices and conducting yourself professionally at all times.
