What is a produce assistant?

A produce assistant is responsible for stocking and maintaining the vegetables and fruit in a grocery store’s produce section. As a produce assistant, your job duties include displaying the products in an organized way and assisting customers. You need to be familiar with the types of fruits and vegetables the store carries and be able to work well with other store employees. Other daily responsibilities are restocking product and keeping the department clean and well maintained. Many grocery store managers start their careers as produce assistants and work their way up.
