What is a pharmacy intern?

A pharmacy intern is someone who has recently finished or is in the process of completing their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and is seeking to gain hands-on experience through an internship. As a pharmacy intern, your responsibilities and duties depend on how much of your education you have completed. They may include a variety of tasks such as compounding and dispensing medications, consulting with patients, administering vaccinations, and checking that warning labels are correctly placed on prescription bottles. You train under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist and among a team of experienced technicians.
