What is a pharmacy assistant?

A pharmacy assistant is someone who performs administrative duties and customer service in a pharmacy. While they are not pharmacists, they may help restock inventory, advise on over-the-counter remedies, and assist technicians in taking customer information. The role requires excellent customer service skills to speak with a wide variety of customers who fill prescriptions at the pharmacy. They may also answer phone calls, organize retail displays, and work the cash register for retail purchases.
