What is a military analyst?

A military analyst provides strategic intelligence for the military, military contractors, and policymakers. Your main duties are to collect intelligence, analyze data and reports, and make recommendations for further policy initiatives based on research. There are many specific areas of interest you may pursue. They include researching arms control and non-proliferation, assessing peace missions, and working with diplomatic strategy. Military analysts work in a variety of industries or fields and you may be required to travel extensively for your job.
