A legal investigator researches and uncovers information relevant to a court case. Depending on the type of case they are working on, their job duties vary, but typically include interviewing witnesses, preparing legal documents, examining evidence, and reconstructing crime scenes. Sometimes they must present evidence on the witness stand during a trial. Legal investigators may work for law firms, government agencies, or they may choose to be independent contractors and work for several different organizations.
