A lead teller oversees the bank teller staff to ensure customers receive friendly and efficient service. As a lead teller, you monitor the teller line, interacting with customers when the line grows long. You also supervise the other tellers to make sure they provide excellent customer service. When necessary, you move to your teller station and conduct customer transactions, such as deposits and withdrawals. In some banks, you may help customers submit loan applications, verify transactions and cash supply, and resolve questions or concerns from customers or other tellers. Qualifications for a lead teller position include several years of bank teller experience and demonstrated leadership skills.
