What is a humanities teacher?

Humanities is the study of human culture and society, including art, language, and history. As a humanities teacher, it is your job to teach these subjects to students. Your duties are to promote education and foster a safe learning environment. Humanities teachers spend most of their time in the classroom, though you may travel occasionally for field trips. You may also be required to travel for professional development. To teach in a public primary or secondary school you must obtain a state teaching certification. Humanities teachers are also referred to as social science or social studies teachers.
