What is a homemaker companion?

A homemaker companion is a non-medical home care professional who provides companionship and helps with daily tasks around the home. You generally find this job in the home of someone who is unable to complete chores and upkeep due to illness, age, or disability. As a homemaker companion, your responsibilities include helping with basic self-care, cleaning, cooking, and organizing the home. You do not need a degree in this career, but a CPR certificate is helpful, and possibly mandatory, depending on your client’s needs.
