What is a fund accountant?

As a fund accountant, you provide financial expertise to government agencies, public institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Your primary responsibilities are to organize and to document financial resources and spending. Your job duties include account maintenance, financial report preparation, funds management, and tax preparation. You mainly work independently but may have regular meetings with leadership to review financial reports and to discuss strategies for efficient and effective use of funds. You need excellent math skills and attention to detail, as well as strong time management and organizational skills to succeed in fund accountant jobs.
