What is a financial services professional?

A financial services professional is a person who works with clients on financial planning and investment strategies to help them better manage wealth. Your job duties include acting as a financial advisor, providing investment management, and evaluating tax strategies. A career as a financial services professional requires you have some formal qualifications and education, including a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field. You may supplement any relevant job experience by earning certification with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Depending on your state, you may also be required to obtain licensure for the buying and selling of stocks, bonds, and other securities.
