What is a diagnostic radiologist?

A diagnostic radiologist uses X-rays, ultrasound imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), and other diagnostic imaging tools to diagnose a patient. To do this effectively, the diagnostic radiologist prepares patients for imaging procedures, operates the imaging equipment, and analyzes the images. The diagnostic radiologist then communicates their findings to the physician. The diagnostic radiologist plays a key role in correctly diagnosing patients, presenting treatment options to patients, and using radiation safely to observe internal body parts.
