What is a demand planner?

A demand planner oversees supply chains and forecasts supply and demand for companies. Their responsibility is to perform data analysis and design a demand plan, which is a reliable forecast report used to help determine the appropriate amount of supplies through cycles of high and low market demand. Using this planning system often results in significant cost reduction for a supply channel. Demand planners often build knowledge or relationships with many companies in their supply chain to help them understand the driving forces further down the supply chain.
