What is a cost accountant?

A cost accountant oversees the budget and expenses for a company or organization. As a cost accountant, your duties include assessing the cost of doing business, establishing budgets, and managing ledgers for all expenses. You also conduct regular audits. Your job is to work with the managers of various departments and senior leadership to develop, implement, and assess the company's financial expense plan. You may also generate reports for tax purposes, briefings, and stockholders.
