What is a control valve technician?

As a control valve technician, your primary responsibilities are to install, repair, and provide maintenance for mechanical regulating and controlling devices. You work with equipment like gas regulators, thermostats, electric meters, safety and flow valves, and other mechanical governors. Your duties include turning valves to allow measured amounts of air or gas to pass through at specific flow rates, recording meter readings, and reporting hazardous field situations or damaged meters. You also connect regulators to test stands and adjust until gauges indicate proper pressure specifications. You then document or report any changes.
