What is a computer security specialist?

A computer security specialist configures a computer’s network and access protocols to ensure that only authorized personnel has access to company data. As a computer security specialist, you monitor the security system for effectiveness, update network security by installing licensed update patches, and identify potential risks or security breaches. Other job duties may include training staff on security practices and consulting with management about creating redundant backup systems.
