What is a camp manager?

A camp manager performs various duties at a camp, which may include general on-site maintenance as well as specialized maintenance on vehicles or other equipment at the camp. As a camp manager, your responsibilities may be year-round, even if the camp is seasonal like at a youth camp. During the off-season, you may be in charge of assessing the camp facilities, repairing various structures, or updating certain areas such as a kitchen or bathroom. When the camp season arrives, you oversee general operations and work with camp personnel to help keep the camp running smoothly. You may also implement safety procedures and ensure that facilities are clean and meet sanitation regulations.
