What is wireline work?

Wireline jobs are occupations at oil and gas sites in which you rig cable to drop into a well in order to lower equipment and repair materials. Wireline cabling is also used to aid in pipe recovery duties, well intervention, and evaluation tasks. You use similar tools and techniques to work with wireline as you would with slickline cabling. However, wireline is similar in material to electrical cable rather because it is used to transmit information from deep in the well.
