What is pet sitting?

When pet owners take a vacation, they need someone to keep an eye on their furry friends. Pet sitting is taking care of household pets for short periods until the owner’s return. Responsibilities include visiting the pet owner’s home and feeding, cleaning and playing with the pet. Dogs need to be walked for exercise, and cats need play time to release energy. Sometimes a pet sitter will keep the animals in their own home for 24-hour care and access. If the animal has a special diet or needs extra attention, the pet sitter may stay at the pet owners’ home.
