Dermatopathology is a sub-discipline of dermatology and pathology. The focus of dermatopathology is to investigate skin disorders and other cutaneous diseases on the molecular or microscopic level. Dermatopathology is a vast field because a wide range of illnesses occurs on the skin, including melanoma, carcinomas, and other pre-cancers as well as skin diseases, sexually transmitted infections, and cosmetic issues like wrinkles and peeling skin. In addition to pathology, dermatopathology also includes aspects of surgical pathology.
