What does an RN educator do?

As an RN educator, you teach nursing students in classroom and clinical settings. Your responsibilities include demonstrating proper patient care and providing skills training relevant to RN and other nursing roles. You share your nursing experience and knowledge with students through planning and implementing nursing curriculum, delivering classroom lectures and other presentations, and providing insight on careers in nursing. In a university, community college, or technical or vocational school setting, your duties include preparing students for nursing exams and careers after they earn their degree. In healthcare facilities, you oversee staff development or clinical supervision tasks working with nurses and staff.
