As an entry-level computer technician, your responsibilities are to provide IT support and service to customers or a company. You inspect and repair technology, addressing issues with your customer’s server, computer hardware and equipment, connections, and other technical problems. In addition to dealing with hardware issues, your duties include troubleshooting software and firmware problems. You also help clients install and set up new systems, such as networks, IPs, and other components. As an entry-level computer technician, you often assist more senior technicians, and you may have instructional duties as well, such as teaching end-users how to use new technology.
