As an entertainment reporter, you cover entertainment news for a publication or other news outlet. Your work may include looking for exclusive stories for your network, reporting on current news, and building relationships with celebrities, entertainment companies, and those in their periphery. Your duties also require you to break down the most relevant information and stories. If you work in print or digital journalism, you are also responsible for writing, editing, and uploading or submitting the story. You can work as a general entertainment reporter or focus your responsibilities on a particular area, such as TV, music, or digital entertainment. Important qualifications include writing skills, a strong portfolio, and a degree in journalism, although this is not mandatory.
